Attention, Adults In The Parish!

Do you wish to receive the Sacra-ments of Baptism, Eucharist, and/ or Confirmation? For those adults who wish to receive these Sacra-ments, classes for the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) will begin in late Septem-ber. This is a wonderful opportunity to complete the initiation process into the Catholic faith, and to become more actively involved in our parish community. If you would like more information on this faith journey, please contact Jim Susic, RCIA Coordinator, at 963-4500, Ext 4529. Information can also be found at the Resource Center.

‘Make a Joyful Noise’

Another choir season is almost upon us. If you enjoy singing and can make a regular commitment to rehearsals and Sunday liturgies, please consider joining one of our choirs. The Classical Choir sings at the 8:30 AM Mass each weekend. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30 PM in the church. First Rehearsal: August 31.  The Contemporary Choir sings at the 10 AM Mass each weekend. Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30 PM in the church. First Rehearsal: August 29.  High School Music Ministry (both singers and instrumentalists) leads the singing at the 11:30 AM Mass on the fourth Sunday of each month. Two rehearsals — usually on the second and third Tuesday of each month — are held to prepare for the liturgy. Instrumentalists are used regularly with the Contemporary Choir, and also to enhance liturgies during special seasons of the liturgical year, such as Christmas and Easter. All instrumentalists are required to audition for the Director of Music and/or Assistant Director of Music (music provided well in advance!!!) For additional information on any of these opportunities, please contact Jim Susic at 963-4500 Ext. 4529.

Have You Checked Out Our Parish Library Recently?

Many thanks to Marie Sivak, SJA Parish Librarian, for her diligent work in obtaining the best and most up-to-date books for our parish library. The number of books has grown tremendously through donated books (discerned by our priests and deacons) — and through monetary donations (used very carefully) to purchase as much as possible. If anyone is interested in making a Memorial Donation to the SJA Library, please contact the Parish Office at 963- 4500.

Diocesan Wedding Anniversary Mass Sunday, Aug. 20, 2006...
