 The Diocesan Youth Leadership Convention will be held at Lewis University June 27^th to 29^th 2008.

Event Information for SJA Youth Ministry

 Formation Sessions:  Faith development is life long and therefore we are committed to providing faith based content centered around key themes of the Catholic faith which relate to the needs, interests and concerns for high school students.

Scripture Study:  High school students are invited to take an in-depth look at our Sacred Scriptures in this new program.  Activities and discussions will provide opportunities to explore Scripture and understand the Word of God – not just more words about God.

Planning Meetings:  Held the 2^nd Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Parish Center followed by pizza at Passero’s.  This is an opportunity to discuss, plan and take leadership roles in one of the many social, service or community building activities. 

Service Events:  We live out the Gospel messages through our service to others in our Parish and the communities we live in.  Youth Ministry Service Events are an opportunity for high school students to put their faith in action while also building relationships with each other. 

Retreats: Throughout the year we offer Retreats as a way of allowing time for students to reflect discern their journey of faith.  Our focus is to allow for time to explore the quietness of faith inside us while also strengthening our community and adding in some time for “having fun”.  We invite all to consider joining us and watch the bulletin for specific information on retreats.

Youth Leadership Conference (YLC):  This event is sponsored by the Diocese of Joliet and is a chance for high school students to meet other Catholic Youth.  It affords the opportunity to grow in faith, strengthen leadership skills and build community. Information about this event will be distributed in the Spring.

Pilgrimage to Rome:  All high school/college aged students as well as adults are invited  on a “Journey of Faith” to Florence, Assisi and Rome this next Summer from June 19^th -26^th, 2008. For more information please contact the Office of Faith Formation at 630-963-4500.

We often need parent support for transportation and chaperoning so our events can be successful for all.  Please consider volunteering to help us out!  All adult volunteers must complete the “Protecting God’s Children” Program offered through the Diocese of Joliet.  Please call the Parish office for upcoming dates and times for attending this program.
